Seven years shipping digital products at one of the industry’s top-performing marketing training companies — and owning most of what sat around them.
Where it all began
Seven years at one of the best-performing marketing education companies in the industry — a business whose entire product was teaching other people how to build profitable online businesses.
Which meant seeing, at close range and repeatedly, exactly what separates a profitable business from one that merely looks busy. It also meant wearing most of the hats: the marketing, the ads, the launches, the community and the plumbing underneath all of it.
The work
Ran the marketing
Broad ownership of marketing across the product portfolio — positioning, campaigns and the calendar that held them together.
Ran the paid acquisition
Managed the ad spend that fed the funnel, against products where the unit economics were known to the penny.
Launched the courses
Took paid courses from concept to launch and through the iterations afterwards, which is where most of the revenue actually gets decided.
Managed the community
Ran the member community — the part of an education business that determines whether people renew, refer, or quietly disappear.
Owned billing and the technical systems
The billing stack and the technical systems behind the products. Unglamorous, and the reason I now build as well as advise.
What came out of it
Helped drive $10M+ in product revenue
Seven years, one company, most of the hats
Courses launched, community run, systems owned
The pattern recognition everything since has been built on
